Chile — 2026SceneDemo
Santiago
Cumbia, garage and AM radio: a psychedelia with a Chilean accent growing at small festivals.

What's happening?
In Santiago, cumbia was never seen as a thing of the past. The new independent scene treats it as a starting point: Ruina Solar opens every show with a neighbourhood-party rhythm and ends in feedback.
Festivals instead of algorithms
Festival Borde, held in a different warehouse every edition, works as a showcase. Valle Frío, who builds songs out of AM radio, played there before releasing anything on streaming platforms.
The scene matters now because it is exporting a language of its own — not a copy of what happens in the northern hemisphere.
