20 artists you probably don't know yet
From the capital to the hills of Córdoba: what new Argentine independent music is doing while nobody is looking.
29 Sep 2026 · 20 tracks

Argentina has one of the strongest rock traditions in Latin America — and that is exactly why it is hard to be new there. This selection brings together artists who found a way: not fighting the past, but ignoring it elegantly.
20 artists and 20 tracks, from Buenos Aires to the hills of Córdoba.
Why this playlist?
Because in 2026 Argentine independent music stopped depending on Buenos Aires. Small labels, hundred-capacity rooms and rehearsal collectives formed a circuit linking the capital to Córdoba and Rosario.
What connects these artists is not a genre but an economy: record cheaply, release fast, play constantly.

What's happening in Argentina?
The scene splits into hubs that talk to each other: Buenos Aires, more nervous and urban; Córdoba, more patient and psychedelic. Rosario and La Plata come up in conversation, but don't have published scenes here yet.
Why these tracks?
The order goes from the most urgent to the most contemplative: it starts in the rooms of Buenos Aires and ends in the hills of Córdoba. Each track was chosen for showing a different way out of rock nacional.
