New Latin American Psychedelia
Cumbia, krautrock, charango and feedback: Latin American psychedelia in 2026 asks nobody's permission.
18 Aug 2026 · 7 tracks

For decades, “Latin American psychedelia” meant reissues of 1970s records. This playlist is about the opposite: bands inventing their own right now.
Why this playlist?
Because Santiago, Córdoba and Belém arrived at similar sounds without agreeing on them. This selection's hypothesis is that a regional language is taking shape — made of local rhythms stretched into trance.

What's happening?
It is not a single-city scene but a conversation between several. What links them are small festivals and labels trading releases across countries.
Why these tracks?
Each track starts from a different traditional rhythm — cumbia, guitarrada, chacarera — and takes it far away.
