New Argentine independent music
How a circuit of small venues, one-person labels and rehearsal collectives decentralised Argentine rock.
By Redação diminutus° (DEMO)

For decades, playing rock in Argentina meant, sooner or later, moving to Buenos Aires. In 2026, that changed.
Two hubs
In Buenos Aires, bands like Niebla Corta and Patio Sur play rooms like Club Mirador and release through Discos Humo. In Córdoba, Colectivo Sótano shares one rehearsal room among six bands — Isla Interior and Sierra Baja among them.
“Córdoba used to export musicians. Now it exports records.”
What ties it together
It isn't a genre. It is an economy: record cheaply, release fast, play constantly and swap dates between cities. The Argentina 2026 playlist gathers the result.
