Small scenes, big cities
Why the most interesting scenes in cities like Buenos Aires and Lisboa fit into hundred-capacity rooms.
By Redação diminutus° (DEMO)

Big cities produce a lot of music, but scenes happen on a small scale. A scene is, above all, a group of people who see each other every week.
The room as an instrument
In Buenos Aires, Club Mirador holds a hundred people. In Lisboa, many 2026 records were made in apartments. In both cases, the space shapes the sound: short songs for packed rooms, quiet pianos so as not to bother the neighbours.
A scene doesn't need a lot of people. It needs the same people coming back.
The risk of growth
Every small scene lives with a paradox: it needs attention to survive, but too much attention turns it into something else. That is why diminutus° prefers telling what is happening to announcing the “next big name”.
